Function Health & Comprehensive Lab Review in Atlanta
Have results from Function Health or extensive lab testing and aren't sure what to do next?
Maybe you've completed testing through Function Health or another direct-to-consumer lab service. Or perhaps another physician ordered an extensive panel, and you received pages of results without enough time to really discuss them.
Having more data can be useful—but only if you understand what it means and what, if anything, you should do about it.
At Intown Functional Medicine, I offer physician consultations specifically for people who want a thoughtful, comprehensive review of lab results they've already obtained.
Making sense of the big picture
Large lab panels can identify important health concerns, but they can also uncover minor abnormalities that aren't necessarily meaningful. A result flagged as "high" or "low" doesn't automatically mean something is wrong—or that it needs to be treated.
During your consultation, we'll review your results in the context of you: your medical history, medications, family history, symptoms, lifestyle, and health goals.
We'll focus on questions like:
Which results are actually important?
Are there findings that deserve further evaluation?
Is there evidence of cardiovascular or metabolic risk that should be addressed?
Would changes in nutrition, exercise, sleep, medications, or other treatments be helpful?
Are any additional tests truly necessary?
Which abnormal or "suboptimal" results can reasonably be left alone?
Depending on your testing, this may include discussion of cholesterol and cardiovascular risk, blood sugar and insulin resistance, thyroid function, iron and nutrient levels, hormones, liver and kidney health, inflammation, and other findings.
You don't need to leave your regular doctor
This service is designed to complement your existing medical care, not replace it.
Many of my patients already have a primary care physician and other specialists they like. They simply want more time to understand their results, think through their health as a whole, and decide what their next steps should be.
You can bring results from Function Health, InsideTracker, Quest, Labcorp, or testing ordered by another healthcare provider.
What happens after the visit?
Sometimes the answer is reassurance and no additional testing. Sometimes we identify a specific issue worth addressing. And sometimes the results lead to a broader conversation about cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, weight, menopause, hormones, sleep, or another health concern.
When appropriate, I can recommend additional evaluation, prescribe medication, or help you develop a treatment plan. If something is best managed by your primary care physician or a specialist, I'll let you know that as well.
You do not need to enroll in an ongoing program to schedule a lab review.
Already have your results? Schedule a consultation and upload them before your visit so we can use our time together to focus on what matters most.
